    No, the response was not truly isolationist

    to begin with, the USA interfered severally with the happenings in Latin America countries, guided by the Roosevelt corollary. There were interventions in countries such as Cuba and Haiti.

    The open door policy was also an intervention policy in china. The

    open door policy called for opening of Chinese market and a recognition of Chinese territorial integrity, which was in sharp contrast with isolationism becasue it contradicted the imperialists.
