Different views on certain topics such as slavery caused a divide between some southern states and the Union causing those southern states (South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas) to secede from the Union and form the CSA (Confederate States of America) ultimately causing a war between the two, with the Union defeating the CSA.
