The group that benefited most from the Supreme Court decision in McCulloh v. Maryland and Gibbons v. Ogden was the federal government. The McCulloch v. Maryland and and Gibbons v. Ogden case was significant because it determined if the United States government had the right to make a bank in Maryland and if the state of Maryland have the right to tax the government for making the bank. Since Maryland lacked the power to make the decision of taxing the creation of the bank, the Supreme Court distributed the powers towards the federal government.
