How did Ford and Carter try to fix economic problems, and why didn't their plans work?

Gerald R. Ford and Jimmy Carter both failed to control the inflation rate in the country and the unemployment issue during their Presidency. During the time of their administration both encountered difficulty to control the economy. During Ford’s administration in order to regain the country he advised to cut the taxes. While in Carter’s administration, he made a program to design the energy program.
