    C. She was excited and proud, because it was an honor to serve the government.

    Explanation:

Ji-li was selected by the government for an auditioning to the Liberation Army dance troupe. Concerning the upcoming auditioning, Ji-li was excited and felt proud to work for the government counting it has a honor.

Unfortunately, her father prevented her from the auditioning for the dance troupe because he knew their family is a black family. This was because of some of his mistakes committed during the Anti-rightist Movement. Therefore, on realising that her family has bad records, Ji-li wants to change her name.
