Both involved the issue of population. the great compromise was made from the issue of having two representatives from each state or for the representation be based on population (the compromise being that the house of Representatives would be based on population and the Senate would have two senators from each state) and the 3/5ths compromise was about whether to include slaves or not (and it ended up ending with them counting slaves as 3/5ths of a person)
