    The Egyptian pyramids are ancient pyramid-shaped structures located in Egypt and the most famous ones are Pyramid of Menkaure, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Khufu. These monumental pyramids were built for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure and the main purpose of these monuments was to protect these pharaohs so that they would be able to use the pyramids in their afterlife. Moreover, the shape of the pyramids was also significant. The shape of Egyptian pyramids was thought to represent the primordial mound or hill from which the Egyptians believed the earth was created. Besides, the shape of a pyramid was thought to be representative of the descending rays of the sun and The Egyptians also believed that the dark area of the night sky around which the stars appeared to revolve was the physical gateway into the heavens.
