Germany got involved in wars with the Soviet Union (eastern front), and faced oposition in Northern Africa from the Allies, especially in Libya and Egypt. As a result, Germany had to abandon its idea of invading England, and instead, focused its efforts in the Soviet Union and Northern Africa.

    Explanation:

By 1941, Germany had launched the Operation Barbarossa, whose goal was to defeat the Soviet Union, slaughter a bit part of its population, and repopulate the Soviet Lands with German subjects. While at first, this operation was a success, it soon became a nightmare for the nazis, because the Soviet resistance was fierce and began to push back.

In Africa, Germany also faced opposition, especially in Egypt, which was a British colony, and neighboring Libya. One of the most famous Germans Generals: Erwin Rommel, was defeated there.
