I believe it was all about letting women have the same rights as men; as far as voting & being treated fairly & equally in general. But a lot of this movement did have to do with voting, b/c in the 14th amendment, it uses the word "male" to refer to a citizen's voting rights; & the women (Susan B. Anthony & Elizabeth Cady) believed that that amendment should be broaden.
