    It reveals many things. It primarily shows his descend into madness because he perceives Banquo who was his ally as an enemy now and orders his murder. This shows that's he's prepared to eliminate anyone and no longer observes people as friends or enemies, rather everyone as an enemy who might try to remove him from power.
