Which source grew San Antonio s population significantly during the late 1720 s and early 1730 s?

It significantly increased mostly due to Christian missions that were held there where the goal was to convert the locals to Christianity. The Spanish government went as far as to move 400 families there to spread the influence of western Christian culture. As they lived there and the community grew, it eventually became one of the largest ones in the new continent.
