The Bourbon Triumvirate was made up of three men, all powerful politicians in the late 1800s. Their names were John Gordon, Joseph Brown, and Alfred Colquitt. All three were white supremacists. Their goal was to industrialize the south so it would be as successful as the north, but at the same time, they wanted to keep slavery in place in order to increase their profits. Another goal was to keep government small so that it would't be required to provide a lot of services to the people.

The term Bourbon Triumvirate refers to the three most powerful politicians in Georgia in the post-Reconstruction era: Joseph E. Brown, Alfred H. Colquitt, and John B. Gordon.
The goals of the Bourbon Triumvirate were to industrialize the South to be similar to the North, but still to preserve the old south ways. They believed in white supremacy.
