    In 1921, Reza Khan, an officer in the Persian army, led a military mutiny that seized control of Tehran in Iran. When Reza Khan seized Tehran, he introduced several administrative reforms through which he envisaged strengthening and modernizing the government. He also sought to revamp Tehran’s economic system.
