Manufacturing increased four times during world war 2.

When the war began, military personnel went to Texas where they trained soldiers and manufactured goods necessary for the war effort which meant that a huge number of new factories and job opportunities were created in that area. It was reduced after the war but Texas still remained developed more than before.
