    Edward Burleson was chosen by the consultation to command the regular army of Texas

    Explanation:

    Burleson was delegated commander of the local army in Howard Company, Missouri, in 1817. He was additionally colonel of the local military in Hardeman County, Tennessee (1823-30). He moved to Texas in 1830 and filled in as lieutenant colonel of the local army of Austin.

    Burleson vanquished Mexican insurrectionists (April 1838), the Cherokees at Pecan Bayou, and the Comanche's at the clash of Plum Creek. He additionally served under Alexander Somervell against the Mexican attacks of Texas in 1841 and 1842.
