    False. Leningrad was freed on January 27, 1944. Besides the siege of Leningrad killed around 800,000 civilians. They didn't surrender and the city was hailed as a symbol of Russian determination and sacrifice.

    I think this is false I'm not sure but after doing research I found that Brittanica says this ...
