Henry iv granted limited liberty of conscience to the French Huguenots. The new law ordered destruction of the churches, closing of schools, catholic baptism of the Huguenots, and the exile of the Huguenot pastors who had refused to renounce their faith. He was one king with two faiths at hand. He was assassinated in 1610.
