    Peter Zenger was a New York printer. He printed New York Weekly Journal. He criticised the actions of royal governor William S. Cosby who was corrupt. Zenger accused the government of rigging elections and allowing the French army to explore New York harbour. Due to this he was accused of being a Libel (One who opposes the government). The most famous lawyer Andrew Hamilton of Philadelphia defended him and demanded prosecution to prove him false, and pleaded for his clients release. Hamilton and smith tried to prove that even a defamatory statement cannot be libellous if it cannot be proved.
