English inventor that is regarded the "Father of the Railroad". He was the son of a poor coal miner and had grown up watching horses pulled loaded wagons, full of coal, along a tramway. He built a steam-powered locomotive for moving railroad cars. His most famous steam-powered locomotive was the Rocket.

    George Stephenson was an English (British) civil and mechanical engineer. he is known for having successfully created the world's first railroad and steam locomotive, which he named "Locomotion N° 1". This first voyage was made in the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1830. He would later create the first intercity railway between the cities of Manchester and Liverpool. It started operating in 1830.
