In order to pay for frequent wars, Kings have increased taxes, and tax collection methods are more stringent and more efficient. Therefore, the representative bodies like parliament gained more power and authority because they needed approval for taxation. However, the kings continued to expand their influence on the account of the territorial estates of the nobility.
