The Infamous Decade (in Spanish, Década Infame) in Argentina is the name given to the period of time that began in 1930 with the coup d'état against President Hipólito Yrigoyen by José Félix Uriburu and resulted in the rising to power of Juan Perón after the Military coup of 1943.

On September 6, 1930, a period marked by the emergence of authoritarianism began. The coup d'état that overthrows President Hipólito Yrigoyen, inaugurates in Argentina history a period of permanent irruptions to democratic continuity.
This coup meant the return to the old practices of electoral fraud, corruption and the negotiated. For this reason, this period of Argentine history is known as the Infame Decade.
