How were the great empires of the Americas - the Aztec and the Inca - affected by their initial contact with Europeans in the 15th century? Give a brief description of each empire before the arrival of the Europeans, and then explain how and why these civilizations changed as a result.

    Germs killed most of them. The euopeans had been building up immunities for centuries whereas the Native Americans had been sheltered from them. So when the Europeans came over, the germs spread like wildfire.

    Explanation:

    The Aztecs were around present-day Mexico. They made beautiful cities. They were artistic.

    The Incas had an extremely strong military. They controlled more land then anybody else had ever had in that region. They were militaristic.
