During World War I, freedom of speech was limited through laws that stopped criticism of the government. In your opinion, why do you think the Texas government would create these laws?

    In World war I AntiGerman feeling was so high by keeping this in mind Congress passed the Espionage Act of 1917, quickly after the United States joined into World War I. This law curtailed free speech and press during World War I. This law made it unlawful to make opposition to the draft and even banned the distribution of Anti war pamphlets. And for the same reason, the Texas government made this law discussed above. Almost 2000 Americans were convicted under breaching this Law.
