Describe several factors that contributed to the extinction of trees on Easter island

The main factor was human influence. Humans went there and started farming and needed land for that so they cut down trees. What was once a dense forest now became an area without trees at all. It is a direct reminder of what human exploitation of resources can do to the environment.
