Describe racial relations in American from the Civil War to the 1950s?

    After the civil war, the whites and blacks had a lot of disagreements. Even though the blacks were free, they were still segregated. "Segregated but equal" - was some BS and the whites abuse the blacks. The blacks wanted more rights and some white people weren't having it. The blacks protested and the whites got violent.

    Sorry I said whites and blacks. I just mean their skin color. (I'm not racist)
