How did the teachings of Mohammad Gandhi affect Cesar Chavez during the Delano grape strike

Mahatma Gandhi inspire Chavez to resort to nonviolent methods in order to fight for the rights of agricultural and farm workers against grape growers in California.

As Gandhi had done in India, Chavez organized the longest massive march ever in the United States, from Delano to Sacramento. This brought public attention to their claims and eventually forced the producers to renegotiate with the workers.

César Chavez, fought for farm laborers' rights, and worked really hard to improve work conditions for many farm workers.

He was inspired by methods previously used by Mahatma Gandhi, such as strikes, boycotts, fasts and marches, using them to draw attention to his cause. Furthermore, he never answered with full on violence, but he responded with passive resistance, just like Gandhi did.

César Chávez transformed conditions and pay for many labor workers, making him a champion of the poor.
