were tired of losing American lives in Europe

    Explanation:

In WW1 around 117 000 American soldiers lost their life on the soil of Europe.

It is larger number than United States lost in all the wars during the period of isolationism.

This new isolation after WW1 was even greater than the one before the war. American didn't care about League of Nations and Wilson's idea. They thought that a life of an American soldier is more important than any any war that is being led on the soil of Europe.
