Williams James theory on the origin of religion makes sense as at this present time.

    Explanation:

Edward Burnett Tylor who is an anthropologist defined religion as belief in spiritual beings and stated that this belief originated as explanations of natural phenomena. Belief in spirits grew out of attempts to explain life and death.

Frazer defined religion as a propitiation or conciliation of powers superior to man which are believed to direct and control the course of Nature and of human life.

Freud defined religion as the unconscious mind's need for wish fulfilment. Because people need to feel secure and absolve themselves of their own guilt, Freud believed that they choose to believe in God, who represents a powerful father-figure.

Williams James was a psychologist and philosopher, he defined religion as the experiences of human individuals insofar as they see themselves related to whatever they regard as divine.

Rudolph Otto defined religion as the belief in an ever-living God, that is, in a Divine Mind and Will ruling the Universe and holding moral relations with mankind."

Jung believed that religion was a natural expression of the collective unconscious

Williams James said people believe in whatever we know it's divine and superior.
