Why is the American court system hierarchical?

    The American court system is hierarchical for order and efficiency. There are numerous different courts; the District Court, Circuit Court, then the well known Supreme Court. These are branched off into different sections, as they all have different purposes and people who have different skills in each. Each court will handle different cases and material, while usually the higher courts, which are the more respectable, will review this material.
