Technological development had suffered an exponential increase during the last 2 centuries.

The period between 1700 and 1840, is characterized by the first industrial revolution. Which included developments focused on improving the manufacturing processes of industries in various fields. Particularly in textiles, as the cotton boom occurred during this period. The period between 1914 and 1945 comprises the second industrial revolution. Which introduced the concept of the "Assemble Line" by Henry Ford. This was a period focused on improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes in order to increase the output of goods to respond to the ever-growing demand at the time. The period between 1945 to the present has seen the most aggressive growth in the number of developments. These have been focused on more specialized fields such as medicine and telecommunications. Nowadays, various products are fusing into a single product that can perform the tasks of all of them, like the smartphone.
