It began due to a conflict between england and france over the control of the ohio river valley. both sides wanted the valley so they could expand their settlements into the area

The main causes of the French and Indian war also known as the Seven Years war, was due to the constant hostility of the two large Empires. Although peace was kept surprisingly well, at the beginning of colonization in the New World, the Ohio River brought upon a new battle.
