The definition of patriotic is, having or showing devotion and support for ones country. Based on this we can tell that there are many examples that not every american is patriotic. These are many examples of citizens showing their hatred to their own country by burning american flags in protests. There are many Americans that do not have much support for their own government and the nation as a whole. Based on the previously stated, I do believe that this teacher is using to broad of a definition of patriotic.
