    During the expeditions of Lewis and clark, pike, Lewis & Clark were sent to find a route to the Pacific Ocean & to explore the west. Pike was sent to see where the Red River started.

    What did the expeditions of Lewis and clark, pike, and fremont reveal about the west? Most of the land they surveyed was already occupied by Native Americans, their expeditions journals were filled with details about Native American tribes with scientific notes about plants and animals and lastly that the main force driving western expansion was the federal government; they also brought back stories that made other Americans dream about heading west.
