Here's a list of territories acquired by Japan between 1875 and 1914:

Kuril Islands - as of 1875 Ryukyu Islands - as of 1879 Nanpō Islands - as of 1891 Taiwan - as of 1895 Minami-Tori-shima - as of 1898 Karafuto (South Sakhalin) - as of 1905 Kwantung Leased Territory - as of 1905 Korea - as of 1910 Shandong - as of 1914

    Follow-up:

Japan's efforts to control other territories in Asia didn't end there. In 1931, Japan invaded and occupied Manchuria, the northeastern region of China. The Japanese declared the region to be a new country, independent of China. which the Japanese called Manchuko. In reality, the territory was not independent but was controlled by the occupying Japanese army.

The League of Nations condemned Japan in 1933 for the events in Manchuria, but that did little to stop Japan. Japan withdrew from the League of Nations at that time, and by 1937 began further invasions into Chinese territory. and in the early 1940s Japan occupied French Indochina (territory in Southeast Asia).
