    C. A dream of economic opportunities

    Explanation:

Several factors were responsible for the vast immigration of people from their homelands to the United States between 1880-1920. Factors ranging from economic harship to religious crisis and political factors. Whilst some came to escape from war, some others fled to avoid corrupt governance, there were yet those who immigrated to escape persecution. However, through this all [despite and inspite], the pull factor which produced the most significant drawing of people into the United States was a dream of economic opportunities. This is because this was the period of the maturation of American capitalism. Immigrants flocked in looking for job opportunities, employment and work.
