Describe how ethics operate in a religion?

    I believe it was Khan that Religion is a crutch to morality. What he means is that religion is a means to an end to morality.

    But more broadly speaking, religion sets a bunch of standards as to what and what not to do. Religion serves to establish norms in a society.
