    The Four Noble Truths as listed:

    the truth of misery the truth that misery originates within the craving for pleasure and for being or nonbeing the truth that this craving can be eliminated the truth that this elimination is the result of following a methodical way or path

    are part of the foundations of Buddhism as they compromise comprise the essence of Buddha's teachings.
