What was the Declaration of Independence? It was a document that stated that the 13 colonies regarded themselves as independent of Britain.

Why did it make history? It made history because after the Civil War, the 13 colonies did get their independence from Britain and were self-governed.

How did it change how colonies and other countries dealt with governments and how did this influence world history? The colonies became independent and were able to make their own laws and establish their own government and that inspired other countries to want independence as well.
