What caused the French madness and what did john Adams fear

French revolution madness or Reign of Terror began in the year 1793 however it is still of debate whether it started at July, or March / June or September. It ended at the year 1794 of July. This led to thousands of death. John Adams, the president at that time, was caught in the middle.
