what is the relationship between territorial expansion and the rise of sectional tensions in the U. S. prior to the Civil War

    The relationship is strong since the territorial expansion made the labor price go up and that put nervous many businessmen who opposed a liberalized land-sales policy. In the south which was a slaved economy there were no wages but slaves gained more value.
