    The Neolithic Revolution was the wide-scale transition of many cultures from hunting and gathering to agriculture and settlement, making larger populations possible.

    It began around 12,000 years ago when people discovered how to farm (agricultural revolution) this caused tribes to settle down - unlike in the Paleolithic Era where they were hunters and gatherers. By settling down, division of labor was introduced, and the effect of that was the formation of currency and trading. In addition, settling down meant civilization and cities.
