What was the main reason Allied trips were horrified when they discovered Nazi concentration camps?

    They hadn't been warned how awful it would be. It was Germany's best kept secret, no one knew about the camps. The inmates were treated so terrible, there was so much death, starvation, and injury that the troops were overwhelmed

    When they found the camps the Jews were in awful conditions and were skin and bones.
