What is one reason Lowell, Massachusetts, was called a model factory town

    In Lowell, there were factories that were for cotton, which children used to work at. There, alot of girls worked and made clothes out of cotton. They had rough working conditions. 'Lydie' is based on a true story of a girl who worked in those factories.
