The Ancient Mayans was a diverse group of indigenous people that lived in parts of Mexico, Guatemala, Beliz, Honduras and El Salvador. They are renown for their complex civilizations in the western hemisphere between 300-900 A. D (Classic Period). They had scientific inventions in astronomy, engineering, agriculture and communications.
