The Gothic style cathedrals did not just introduce a new style of architecture. It was a huge structure filled with many representations of Christian faith. The high ceiling represented the heavens with the altar facing east towards the Holy Land. It was adorned with stained-glass windows that depicted the saints or teachings of the Bible. The figures of saints as wells decorations using the scriptures and the colors inside the cathedral represent and glorify the Christian faith. Apart from religion it was the pride of a town as it was the largest edifice in the area.
