What changed in the election of 1828 and how did that effect Andrew Jackson?

    The House of Representatives in Adams's favour after fellow candidate and Speaker of the House Henry Clay (who finished fourth) threw his support behind Adams. That affected andrew Jackson by making him lose even with the majority of votes.
