Before the results of the election of 1860, a special secession of convention of the South Carolina Democrats in the south carolina institute was called in the event that Abraham Lincoln won the presidential election.

    Explanation:

Before the results of the 1860 presidential election, many states including south caroline called on a secession convention as an attempt to stop Lincolns' call to prevent the expansion of slavery. They found support and many other states joined them in their cause because they believed it was their right to carry on slavery to the northern states. Nevertheless, the republican party opposed and it unleashed the south Carolina call for independence which lead to the rise of civil war. It was a very difficult and debated exchange of opinions because everyone believed they had the right. However, those in favor of human freedom and rights supported Presiden's Lincoln cause and fought for him and his ideas.
