    The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was the treaty that has ended the Mexian-American War and it was signed on February 2, 1848 and with it the United States gained a large sum of land that enlarged its territory. Many Mexican landowners still lived on those lands and with the treaty their protection was insured.
