The 'Poe Toaster" refers to a media nickname given to an unidentified person (s), who, for over 7 decades, paid an annual tribute to the American author Edgar Allen Poe's grave. According to eye witnesses, the 'Poe Toaster' would pour himself a glass of Cognac and raise a toast to Poe on his birthday (January 19.) He would then leave the rest of the bottle of Cognac, and three roses distinctively arranged.
