What was the single most factor that led to two different ways of life in the North and South?

    A big difference between the North and the South's ways of life that caused tension was Industrialization vs. Agriculture. The Northerners couldn't understand how life was in the South. The South argued they needed slaves for workers. The increase in religion awakenings in the North caused them to see how morally wrong slavery was.
